7 Days - The Story of God's Creation - Day 3 - Land, Plants and Fruit - Family Devotional

Welcome to the Children's Christian Learning Family Devotional! We are on a 7 part journey to learn about 7 Days - The Story of God's Creation

Before God began His creation, there was absolutely nothing. It's hard to imagine

nothing but God created everything we see from nothing! Nothing existed. Nothing at all. Except, of course, God. He has always existed. (Isaiah 57:15).

Let's look at 7 Days The Story of Gods Creation........

Day 3 - Tuesday - Land, Plants and Fruit

‘Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with seed in them, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day’. (Genesis 1:9-13).

Land

God made dry land on the third day. The land had very high mountains, rolling hills, flat plains, and valleys. Every part of the dry land was beautiful. Did you know that if you flattened out the earth’s surface today, there would be enough water in the oceans to cover the whole earth to a depth of almost 3 km (2 miles)?

Plants and Fruit

God then filled the dry land with lots of plants and grass to cover the valleys. God made many different kinds of flowers and trees. Some of these plants and trees grew delicious fruits and vegetables to eat. (Psalm104:14)

God gave all of the plants the ability to make seeds and made it possible for the seeds from each plant to grow into a brand-new plant. This was so each plant would reproduce themselves and not something else. Apple trees do not change into mango trees and strawberries do not change into peaches. Everything we see in God's creation is ordered.

Could everything have evolved over millions of years?

Of course not, plants are pollinated by birds or bees. These creatures were made on the fifth day of creation. If it took millions of years for them to evolve, how could plants and trees have reproduced and survived? They couldn't they rely on each other to exist. God's creation is awesome! (John1:3).
